Things to do in Surfside Beach include water sports and the Surfside Pier. In 2016 the pier was damaged during Hurricane Matthew. The Surfside Pier reopened in the spring of 2024. The new Surfside Beach Fishing Pier stretches over 800 feet into the Atlantic Ocean and is one of the most modern concrete fishing pier on the east coast. Admission is free to walk the pier however there are fees to fish from the pier.
Families with small children will love Surfside Beach because of its broad shoreline and mild surf. Enjoy Surfside Beach’s great surf conditions by catching some waves or participating in other water activities. For individuals who want to learn new abilities or hone their current ones, there are lessons and equipment rentals available.
